
Senator and former Majority Leader, Robert J. Dole, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Caring Institute, announced the winners of the 2009 Most Caring People in America Awards on September 24th.
Paula Lucas, our Founder & Executive Director, was one of the five adults honored during the Caring Awards ceremony on the evening of October 13 at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles, California. There were also five winners in the young adult category, an international winner and a Mother Teresa Lifetime Achievement Award given to the Dalai Lama.
Other adult winners included General Colin Powell, former Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Former U.S. Secretary of State and genocide survivor John Dau, the leader of the Lost Boys of Sudan.
