Dear Friends & Supporters,

We hope you are all well as we welcome in the New Year. In 2006, ADVCL received 1,286 crisis calls and email from 258 families in 47 countries.

We provided danger to safety relocation, including airline flights, for 14 families fleeing violence back to the USA, paid 4 legal retainers so battered mothers could file for custody of their children back home and placed our second family into our 1 year self-sufficiency transitional housing program.

This would not have been possible with revenue of under
$ 100,000.00 if it had not been for our incredible team of volunteers. Volunteer crisis line advocates provided the equivalent of two full time positions on the swing and overnight crisis line shifts, professional volunteer counselors provided counseling to 19 battered women, attorneys provided consultation on numerous cases and other volunteers provided web development, business consultancy, fundraising, outreach and general support.

Virgin Atlantic Airlines also provided the airline flights at a fraction of cost which enabled us to serve even more families fleeing violence.

Our 2nd Annual Dinner & Auction will take place April 28, 2007 at the Acadian Ballroom in Portland. The theme “Tunes Under Twilight” was designed and produced for us by the Art Institute of Portland.

We are looking forward to 2007, to building more partnerships and expanding our network of volunteers to be able to provide even more services to American families in crisis in the coming year.
